What is the Saracen?
The Saracen Literary Journal is a collection of creative works from Hampton University's most gifted writers. The Journal includes both fiction and non-fiction--in the literary forms of poetry, short stories, and essays. We take pride in our production of Journals that reveal the talents of unrecognized literary genius, and we thoroughly enjoy editing and reading the submissions that we receive. In addition to compiling a journal for mass production, we also host Writing Workshops where up and coming poets and writers are able to not only share their work with a receptive public, but they too are able to receive constructive criticism from the participating audience. Generally, the Saracen Literary Journal makes it possible for the students and faculty of Hampton University to participate in a communal literary experience, outside of the classroom.
